Just when we thought the sunset wouldn’t eventua Just when we thought the sunset wouldn’t eventuate to anything then this happened at the Thrombolites on tour! Then we went possum spotting and saw the Critically Endangered Western Ringtail Possum! So blessed to live where we do!
See this tubby little bird...It’s a Common Sandp See this tubby little bird...It’s a Common Sandpiper and it has been feeding in our waterways for the last few months and very soon it will set off and fly to Europe or Northern Asia. All the worms and invertebrates that it has been feeding on for months has given it the extra weight to help with its migration. Fair well little friend, I hope we see you again next summer after you had some little babies up North!!

Well after taking samples and analysis in the lab check out these polychaete worms 🪱! We also found bivalves and gastropodes and little crustaceans! We are quite excited to know a little more of the abundance of food found in our Estuaries!! Today we are on a citizen science mission. We are Today we are on a citizen science mission. We are taking samples of mud in the Leschenault Estuary as part of a study with @EdithCowanUniversity and @leschenaultcatchmentcouncil to find out what our shorebirds and migratory shorebirds are eating!
